Upcoming Intermediate and Advanced MPI Training Sessions 6 May, 2019

We are pleased to announce the following two MPI training sessions being held on May 6th, 2019:

Intermediate MPI training 9am - 12pm CT 

Advanced MPI training 1pm - 4pm CT 

In our intermediate MPI workshop, we will cover the following aspects of MPI that go beyond basic point-to-point and collectives:

- Derived data types
- Communicator handling
- Process management
- MPI I/O

The workshop will alternate lectures with lab exercises, which can be done in C/C++/Fortran90/Fortran2008 and Python. Prerequisites: a mastery of basic MPI and use of Unix, including text editors.

In our advanced MPI workshop we will cover the following features that were added in MPI-3:

- Atomic operations
- Shared memory
- Non-blocking collectives
- Graph topologies and neighborhood collectives

The workshop will alternate lectures with lab exercises, which can be done in C/C++/Fortran90/Fortran2008 and Python.  Prerequisites: mastery of basic and intermediate MPI and use of Unix, including text editors.

These courses will be available to both in-person and remote attendees via webcast. Local participants are strongly encouraged to attend in-person.
